The Washington Redskins starting offense was ineffectual yet again in a 24-3 preseason finale loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Washington finished with a 3 win, 2 loss record but with prospects of a successful start to the regular season severely shaken.
Plans for the Redskins offense to only play one series were quickly altered when that one series turned out to be a one play deflected interception to a Jacksonville player. The next two drives were impotent three-and-outs leaving starting quarterback Jason Campbell one for three for the night.
The starting defense was kept off the field for the Redskins this week, being rested in anticipation of next Thursday's league regular season at the New York Giants. It will take more than rest to fix what ails the Washington Redskins at this point. Head coach Jim Zorn now has less than a week to figure out the answer.
