Tropical Storm Hanna is currently forecast to track east of the Washington, D.C. area according to the National Hurricane Center. While the exact center of the storm is forecast to move across the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware shorelines, Hanna may still be close enough to bring tropical rain and winds across metro Washington.
Capital Weather Gang currently expects significant rain with 20-40 mph sustained winds during Saturday. Tropical storm force winds may be expected further east along the forecast track of the storm. The combination of rain and wind could bring more than a few power outages across the region.
