Coastal Flood Watch (3/16/26)

A Coastal Flood Watch is in effect from 1 pm to 10 pm Monday, March 16, 2026 including the following jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: Anne Arundel.

…COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING…

WHAT…Up to one foot of inundation above ground level possible in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.

WHERE…Shoreline in Anne Arundel County.

WHEN…From Monday afternoon through Monday evening, especially around the time of high tide.

IMPACTS…At 3.2 feet, water begins to approach businesses on Dock Street in Annapolis. The City Dock parking lot is flooded. Compromise Street is flooded.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Tides two to two and a half feet above normal. The next high tide at Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy is at 3:42 AM and 4:30 PM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
