WHAT…Very cold wind chills as low as 15 below.
WHERE…In Maryland, Eastern Garrett and Extreme Western Allegany Counties. In Virginia, Eastern Highland County. In West Virginia, Eastern Pendleton and Western Mineral Counties.
WHEN…Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.
IMPACTS…The cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
