A Cold Weather Advisory is now in effect to 12 pm Saturday, January 24, 2026 including the following jurisdictions.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
MARYLAND: Baltimore, Baltimore City, Cecil, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Howard, Harford.
VIRGINIA: Augusta, Rockingham, Nelson, Madison, Rappahannock, Culpeper, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park.

WHAT…Very cold wind chills as 5 below.

WHERE…Portions of DC, central, northeast, and northern Maryland, and central, northern, northwest, and western Virginia.

WHEN…Until noon EST today.

IMPACTS…Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
