A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect to 1 pm Sunday, February 1, 2026 including the following jurisdictions.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
MARYLAND: southern Baltimore, Baltimore City, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Howard.
VIRGINIA: Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, eastern Loudoun, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park.

…COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…

WHAT…Very cold wind chills as low as 3 below.

WHERE…The Washington DC and Baltimore MD metro area.

WHEN…Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

IMPACTS…Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

WHERE…In Maryland, Central and Eastern Allegany County. In Virginia, Frederick VA and Shenandoah Counties. In West Virginia, Eastern Grant, Eastern Mineral, Hampshire, and Hardy Counties.

WHEN…Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

IMPACTS…The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
