D.C. United radio moves to 104.7 FM for 2026 season

D.C. United will again have radio broadcasts for its 2026 MLS soccer season starting tonight via iHeartMedia but with a new flagship station, moving from iHeart Sports DC to conservative news talk station Freedom 104.7. Long-time D.C. United television & radio broadcasters Dave Johnson and Bruce Murray will again be on the call for the MLS squad.

In addition to the 104.7 FM frequency, D.C. United matches will air via 98.7 HD2 on HD Radio and on the iHeart app via Freedom 104.7 with home match audio again being simulcast via Apple TV. The station switch marks a return to the 104.7 FM translator frequency for United where the team’s games had aired several years ago under the former WONK-FM banner.

D.C. United’s former iHeart Sports DC home ended broadcasts via the WTSD 1190 AM signal last month when iHeartMedia concluded its limited market agreement there. IHeart Sports DC continues to air via the 101.1 HD2 signal and online while WTSD 1190 is now for sale and at least for now, no longer broadcasting at all.
