DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
MARYLAND: Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Cecil, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Mary’s, Calvert, Montgomery, Howard, Harford.
VIRGINIA: Shenandoah, Frederick, Page, Warren, Clarke, Nelson, Albemarle, Greene, Madison, Rappahannock, Orange, Culpeper, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park.
WEST VIRGINIA: Berkeley, Jefferson.

WHAT…Heat index values up to 108 expected.

WHERE…Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, central, northern, and northwest Virginia, and panhandle West Virginia.

WHEN…From 11 AM to 9 PM EDT Wednesday.

IMPACTS…Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
