 A Flood Warning is in effect Saturday, July 12 to 1:45 am Sunday, July 13, 2025 including the following jurisdictions.
VIRGINIA: Fairfax.

…FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM EDT SUNDAY…
 WHAT…Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
 rainfall is expected.
WHERE…A portion of northern Virginia, including the following county, Fairfax.
WHEN…Until 145 AM EDT Sunday.
IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
 ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
 – At 738 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
 – Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected.
 – Some locations that will experience flooding include…

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
