A Frost Advisory remains in effect from 2 am to 9 am Thursday, October 9, 2025 including the following jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: western Allegany, Garrett.
VIRGINIA: Highland.
WEST VIRGINIA: Grant, western Mineral, Pendleton.

…FROST ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EDT THIS MORNING…
…FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 9 AM EDT FRIDAY…

WHAT…For the Frost Advisory, temperatures as low as 33 will result in frost formation. For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 expected.

WHERE…In Maryland, Eastern Garrett, Extreme Western Allegany, and Western Garrett Counties. In Virginia, Eastern Highland and Western Highland Counties. In West Virginia, Eastern Grant, Eastern Pendleton, Western Grant, Western Mineral, and Western Pendleton Counties.

WHEN…For the Frost Advisory, until 9 AM EDT this morning. For the Freeze Warning, from 2 AM to 9 AM EDT Friday.

IMPACTS…Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
