A Heat Advisory remains in effect to 8 pm Tuesday, July 29, 2025 including the following jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: Washington.
VIRGINIA: Shenandoah, Frederick, Page, Warren, Clarke.
WEST VIRGINIA: Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley, Jefferson, Hardy.

…HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY…

WHAT…For the first Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 101. For the second Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 103 expected.

WHERE…Portions of north central Maryland, northwest Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia.

WHEN…For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the second Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

IMPACTS…Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
