WEST VIRGINIA: central Hampshire.

Until 915 PM EDT.

At 823 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles east of Fort Ashby to near Romney to 12 miles northwest of Wardensville, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

Locations impacted include…
Augusta, Yellow Spring, Shanks, Three Churches, Frenchburg, Higginsville, Green Spring, Capon Bridge, Slanesville, Bloomery, Romney, Points, Delray, Springfield, Kirby, Levels, Wapocomo, Timber Ridge, High View, and Lehew.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
