A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect to 6:45 pm Friday, July 18, 2025 including the following jurisdictions.

VIRGINIA: northeastern Rappahannock, west central Fauquier.

Until 645 PM EDT.

At 607 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Hume, or 9 miles southeast of Front Royal, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

Locations impacted include…
Hume, Chester Gap, Flint Hill, Huntly, Hackleys Crossroads, Amissville, Cresthill, Orlean, and Ada.
