 MARYLAND: Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s, Carroll, Frederick, Cecil, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Harford, Calvert, Charles, St. Mary’s, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset, Worcester.
 VIRGINIA: Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Greene, King George, Nelson, Orange, Spotsylvania, Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Fairfax City, Falls Church, Manassas, Manassas Park, Culpeper, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford, Madison, Rappahannock, Caroline, Westmoreland.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
 Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
 Western Connecticut
 District Of Columbia
 Delaware
 Maryland
 New Jersey
 Far southeast New York
 Eastern Pennsylvania
 Central and eastern Virginia
 Coastal Waters
 Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 140 PM until
 900 PM EDT.
 Primary threats include…
 Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
SUMMARY…Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop and spread eastward through the afternoon and evening. The storm environment will favor a mix of small clusters and line segments capable of producing damaging winds of 60-70 mph.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles east and west of a line from 55 miles east southeast of Lynchburg VA to 30 miles north of Newark NJ. For a complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU6).

 REMEMBER…A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.
