A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect to 5 pm Thursday, January 15, 2026 including the following jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: western Garrett.
WEST VIRGINIA: western Grant, western Pendleton.

Excerpted from the National Weather Service:

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…

WHAT…Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches expected, with storm total accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

WHERE…In Maryland, Western Garrett County. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties.

WHEN…Until 5 PM EST this afternoon.

IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Expect on and off periods of heavier upslope snow showers/squalls late this morning into this afternoon. Blowing snow could result in reduced visiblities.
