A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect to 3 pm Thursday, March 12, 2026 including the following jurisdictions.

VIRGINIA: northern/central Blue Ridge.

Excerpted from the National Weather Service:

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON…

WHAT…Wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of one to three inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

WHERE…Central Virginia Blue Ridge and Northern Virginia Blue Ridge.

WHEN…Until 3 PM EDT this afternoon.

IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions due to a heavy, slushy snow. Visibility could be reduced below one-half mile at times. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow levels will continue to drop in elevation this morning, with precipitation tapering off by mid afternoon.
