A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from 3 pm Wednesday, February 12 to 4 am Thursday, February 13, 2025 including the following jurisdictions.

VIRGINIA: Highland, northern/central Blue Ridge.
WEST VIRGINIA: western Pendleton.

WHAT…For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 5 and 10 inches and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations around a quarter to half inch possible.

WHERE…In Virginia, Central Virginia Blue Ridge and Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, and Eastern Highland and Western Highland Counties. In West Virginia, Western Pendleton County.

WHEN…For the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 AM this morning to 7 AM EST Wednesday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday night.

IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow will overspread the area this morning, with the steadiest snow expected this afternoon and evening. Snowfall rates around 1 to 2 inches per hour and visibility below one half mile are possible this afternoon and evening. A light wintry mix is possible Wednesday morning into the midday, before a steadier wintry mix occurs late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.
